Why does my shopfront door slam when closing

This is usually a sign that the closer has either failed or is damaged. The closer mechanism has a spring and piston that is oil filled to dampen the closing force of the spring. Over tightening or loosening of the screw can damage the seal allowing oil to escape which in turn stops the dampening effect. We can change your closer relatively quickly at a reasonable cost
